Systematic Voter Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP)
Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) is an indispensable initiative aimed at enhancing voter awareness, education, and participation in the electoral process. Despite facing challenges such as low awareness levels, voter apathy, and resource constraints, SVEEP initiatives have yielded positive results in terms of increased voter turnout, improved electoral literacy, and enhanced electoral integrity. Continued efforts and investments in SVEEP are essential for fostering a vibrant and participatory democracy.
Programme Briefing:
on 18th Oct 2021 ,Dr. Y.P. Sharma, in his role as the chief guest, delivered an insightful address emphasizing the importance of systematic voter education and active participation in the electoral process. He highlighted the significance of informed voting decisions and the role of educational institutions in fostering civic responsibility among the youth.
Throughout the event, various aspects of systematic voter education and electoral participation were discussed, including the electoral process, voter registration procedures, voting rights, and the role of citizens in shaping democratic governance. Interactive sessions and group discussions provided students with a platform to share their views and engage in meaningful discourse on the subject.
Prof. Seema Bawa and Dr. Poonam Sharma shared valuable insights into the strategies and initiatives employed to promote voter awareness and enhance electoral participation at both local and national levels. They emphasized the need for collaborative efforts involving educational institutions, civil society organizations, and government agencies to achieve broader outreach and effectiveness in voter education programs.
Dr. Ravinder Kumar, as the coordinator of the BBA program, highlighted the relevance of understanding electoral dynamics and political processes for future business leaders and entrepreneurs. He stressed the role of ethical leadership and civic engagement in driving sustainable development and inclusive growth in society.
Overall, the event served as a significant platform for students to gain a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities as informed citizens. It underscored the importance of active engagement in the electoral process to uphold the principles of democracy and contribute to nation-building.

AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV
Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" is a term that translates to "The Festival of Freedom's Nectar" in English. It is a commemorative event in India that marks the 75th anniversary of India's independence from British colonial rule. The celebration began on August 15, 2021, and is scheduled to continue until August 15, 2023, marking 75 years since India gained independence in 1947.
The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is a significant occasion for Indians to reflect on their country's journey towards freedom, honor the sacrifices made by freedom fighters, and celebrate India's rich cultural heritage and diversity. The celebration involves various cultural events, exhibitions, seminars, and initiatives across the country to showcase India's achievements and progress since independence.

Rozgar Mela
On the 15th of February 2023, a series of Rozgar Melas (job fairs) were organized by Career Counselling & Placement Cell VGC Mandi , Under SJUMY providing opportunities for job seekers to connect with potential employers. Among the participants were students pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees, showcasing their skills and seeking employment prospects.
Several BBA students actively participated in the Rozgar Melas, demonstrating their eagerness to enter the workforce and contribute their expertise to the corporate world. These students brought with them a diverse range of skills acquired through their academic studies and practical experiences, making them valuable candidates for various roles in the business sector.
Indian Contract Act 1872
Onthe 5th of October 2023, the BBA department Organised a lecture on theIndian Contract Act, of 1872, delivered by Advocate “Abhishek Lakhan Pal”.
Thespokesperson explained the Indian Contract Act of 1872 very simply and quicklyso that they could apply this in their daily life.
Intellectual Property right and Entrepreneurship
On25th Oct 20123 Mendeleev Chemistry Club and the BBA Department organizeda one-day workshop in college regarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) andEntrepreneurship which was sponsored by HP Patent Information Centre, HIMCOSTE-Shimla.
Intellectual Propertyhas increasingly assumed a vital role with the rapid pace of technological,scientific, and medical innovation that we are witnessing today. Intellectualproperty has therefore grown into one of the world’s biggest and fastest–growingfields of law thereby necessitating the demand for IP professionals well-versedin this area to deal across national and international borders.

Internship Programme with IIT Mandi
On17th Dec. 2023, 10 no students of BBA final year visited IIT mandi intending to join a filed survey funded by the government of India on
1. “Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana
2. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Students Visited Chamba ,Sirmaur ,Kangra ,Mandi and Shimla Districts of Himachal Pradesh to collect the information of above-mentioned Yojanas.
Student got Stephen @300 Per day for the same and a Certificate of Appreciation from IIT Kamand Mandi .

This was a certification programme. Students of this course not only had on hand experience of how to work on Tally Prime Software. Now a days it is almost mandatory requirement to have knowledge of Tally software for young to get job in accounting field. This programme also provided practical knowledge of GST and TDS. This programme option that has upgraded their skill level, and has added value to their profile and will be an advantage while looking out for job opportunities.

Teachers’ Day Celebration

The students of the BBA Department celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September 2024 with great enthusiasm and gratitude to honour their mentors and guides. The event began with a warm welcome address followed by lighting of the lamp to pay tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day across India.
Students expressed their heartfelt appreciation through speeches, poems, and cultural performances. Various fun games and activities were organized to engage the teachers and make the occasion joyful. A short video presentation highlighting memorable classroom moments added a personal touch to the celebration.
The teachers appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to uphold the values of respect, hard work, and continuous learning. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and a token of appreciation presented to all faculty members.
The celebration reflected the strong bond between teachers and students and created an atmosphere of respect, joy, and togetherness.

Campus Visit to Sardar Patel University, Mandi

The students of BBA First Year visited Sardar Patel University, Mandi on 21st September 2024 as part of an educational exposure program. The visit aimed to familiarize students with the academic environment, administrative setup, and infrastructure of the university.
During the visit, the students were briefed about the university’s functioning, various departments, and facilities available for higher studies. They interacted with university officials and faculty members, gaining valuable insights into academic and research opportunities.
The visit proved to be an enriching experience, helping students understand the broader structure of university education and motivating them for future academic pursuits. The faculty members accompanying the students appreciated their enthusiasm and discipline throughout the visit.

Report on Industrial-cum-Educational Trip

Places Visited: Cremica Unit, Haroli (Una, H.P.) and Shaheed-e-Bhagat Singh Museum
The Department of BBA organized an industrial-cum-educational trip on 28th September 2024 for the students to provide practical exposure and historical awareness beyond the classroom. The visit included two destinations — the Cremica Industrial Unit at Haroli, Una (H.P.) and the Shaheed-e-Bhagat Singh Museum. 52 Nos. students from different semester join this educational Exposure Programme.
At the Cremica Unit, students observed various stages of food processing, packaging, and quality control. Company officials briefed them about the production process, marketing strategies, and management practices followed within the organization. This interaction helped students understand the application of business concepts in real industrial settings.
Later, the students visited the Shaheed-e-Bhagat Singh Museum, where they learned about the life, struggle, and sacrifices of the great freedom fighter. The visit inspired students with patriotic values and a deeper appreciation of India’s history.
The trip was highly informative and motivational, successfully combining industrial learning with cultural and historical understanding. It provided valuable exposure to the students and strengthened their experiential learning.

Visit to IIT Mandi for Tech Fest “XPECTO 25”

The students of the BBA Department visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi to participate in its annual Tech Fest – “XPECTO 25.” The visit aimed to expose students to emerging technologies, innovation practices, and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
During the visit, students attended an interactive lecture on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Models and explored the Innovation and Research Lab at IIT Mandi. The sessions provided valuable insights into the functioning of AI systems, their business applications, and the role of innovation in driving technological advancement.
Students also interacted with IIT faculty members and participants from various institutions, gaining exposure to innovative research, entrepreneurial ideas, and modern technological developments.
At the conclusion of the event, the students received participation certificates in recognition of their active involvement in the fest.
The visit proved to be a highly enriching and inspiring experience, broadening students’ perspectives on technology, innovation, and the future of business in a digital era.
Say No to Drugs – Awareness and Oath Event
Report on Oath Taking Ceremony for “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan”

An oath-taking ceremony under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” was organized by the Department of BBA on 13th August 2025 to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle among students.
Faculty members and students actively participated in the event. The oath was administered to all participants, pledging their commitment to stay away from drugs and to motivate others to do the same. The ceremony emphasized the importance of youth participation in building a strong, drug-free nation.
The program successfully instilled a sense of social responsibility and collective determination among students to contribute towards the vision of a “Nasha Mukt Bharat.”
Inspection Visit BY SPU
Inspection Visit by SPU Expert Team
Date: 19th August 2025
Venue: Vallabh Government College, Mandi
Department: BBA
An inspection team from Sardar Patel University (SPU), Mandi visited Vallabh Government College, Mandi on 19th August 2025 for the inspection of extra seats allotted to the BBA Department.
The inspection team comprised university experts and officials who thoroughly reviewed the departmental facilities, student strength, infrastructure, and academic resources related to the additional seat allocation.
The visiting team included Dr. Nisha Vaidya, Principal, Government College Jogindernagar, along with other SPU experts. The college was represented by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Principal, Vallabh Government College Mandi; Dr. Ravinder Kumar, Vice Principal; and Dr. Anuj Kumar, BBA Co-Ordinator. Faculty members Assistant Prof. Parinita Sharma, Assistant Prof. Sapna, Assistant Prof. Dr. Praveen Sonkhla, and Assistant Prof. Premlata were also present during the inspection.
The team appreciated the department’s efforts in maintaining academic quality and providing an effective learning environment for students. The visit concluded with a positive note, acknowledging the department’s readiness to accommodate the additional seats successfully.

Teachers’ Day Celebration

The BBA Department celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September 2025 to honors the contribution of teachers and commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Students organized a short cultural program with speeches, songs, and fun activities to express their gratitude.
Faculty members were felicitated by the students as a token of appreciation. The event created an atmosphere of joy, respect, and togetherness, strengthening the bond between teachers and students.
