World Science Day

World Science Day was celebrated by faculty of science on 11th November 2021. Dr. Arti Kashyap, Associate Professor IIT Mandi was the Chief Guest. Various activities such as Quiz, Poster making, scientific Rangoli were carried out and  Scientific Models made by students were also displayed. About 1000 students were present during the celebration.

Two days Seminar on Nanomaterials and their diverse applications

Two days Seminar on Nanomaterials and their diverse applications was organized by Department of Physics on 23rd and 24th September, 2024. Dr. Shyam Lal Gupta Fellow - D (Physics) at Harish Chandra Institute, Prayaagraj (U.P.) and Dr. Pooja Kapoor delivered lectures on 23rd & 24th September, 2024. Dr. Shyam Lal Gupta delivered his lecture in online mode, whereas Dr. Pooja delivered her lecture in offline mode.

7-Days Workshop entitled "DFT BASED COMPUTATIONAL MODELLING USING SIESTA"

7 days workshop  onwards on "DFT BASED COMPUTATIONAL MODELLING USING SIESTA"  which aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of computational simulations in SIESTa (Spanish Initiative for Electronic Simulations with Thousands of Atoms) software w.e.f. 26th April, 2025 was organized by the department of Physics, Vallabh Government College, Mandi (H.P.).Dr. Pooja Kapoor, Assistant Professor in Physics from Maharaja Agrasen University was the Resource person for this workshop. This workshop enabled participants to explore the application of SIESTA in performing quantum mechanical simulations for material properties, offered hands-on experience in utilising this tool for solving complex physics problems. The workshop was designed to cater to both beginners and advanced learners, to help them gain practical insights into the use of SIESTA for various applications in physics and material science. 

An Online lecture was delivered on Wind Energy and sustainable Future

An Online lecture was delivered on Wind Energy and sustainable Future by Commercial Leader Pankaj Sharma on 14th October, 2025. Staff of Physics department and Students of B.Sc. 1st, 2nd and 3rd year were present in Room No. 32 during this lecture.
